Eleven Illinois Communities Receive Grants for Lincoln-Related Projects

Almost a dozen new projects are coming to Illinois, helping interpret the life and times of Abraham Lincoln.
Eleven entities have been awarded grants from the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area, also known as Looking for Lincoln. The funds are designated for creating or refreshing exhibits in museums or visitor centers, creating digital interpretive projects, developing lesson plans, or interpreting other aspects of their Lincoln-era stories.
Each organization submitted a proposal that was reviewed by a team of historians and staff of Looking for Lincoln, and was awarded based on their project’s lasting impact on presenting the story of Lincoln’s life and times.

The Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition is the coordinating entity for the 43-county Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area.
